FAQs

Do you work outside the US?

Yes, our team has experience working on all seven continents.

Is this an elaborate way for you to sell dust suppressants?

No. This is the real deal. We can facilitate the purchase and application of a dust suppressant product that you choose as part of our service, but we do not [ever] endorse, prefer, or advocate for any specific dust suppressant, supplier, or application. Our business is to provide unbiased information in the interest of addressing your specific issue.

Would you be willing to test our product and provide a report on effectiveness?

Yes, we can test a specific product and report on the effectiveness of that product under the test conditions. However, we would not endorse or suggest your product to other customers based on such testing, attest to the conditions and consistency with which your product has been fabricated, and/or extend the results of our testing beyond the parameters under which it was performed. Any attempts to characterize such testing as our endorsement will be refuted.

Are you willing to work under attorney-client privilege conditions?

Yes, within limits. For example, privileged material and conditions for client’s disclosure of such material would have to be agreed upon prior to beginning of work.

Does Dust-Solve sell TRAKER? How much does it cost?

Dust-Solve does not typically sell the TRAKER instrument package. While it has been designed for rapid deployment, interpretation and analysis of results requires considerable expertise. In addition, the instrument package is expensive to build and maintain and most of our clients are unlikely to find it economical to own their own unit. We usually operate the TRAKER or train your personnel to operate it under lease as part of an overall program with specific objectives.

Can you buy a PI-SWERL and use it yourself?

PI-SWERL is available for sale from our sister company Dust-Quant LLC. This options may be more appealing or economical under certain conditions where utilization is likely to be high.

What about toxics, radiologicals, and biologicals in the dust?

We have a network of highly qualified collaborating firms that are capable of providing almost any chemical, physical, or biological analysis that our clients would require. We have the capability to collect gas phase and particulate samples (multiple size ranges) on filter and other media associated with dust from wind erosion, roads, and other activities.

Can we use Dust-Solve for air permitting?

No. While we are happy to provide relevant information in support of air permitting, we do not prepare or manage permit applications.

Your website doesn’t mention emission inventories. Can you help with that?

Yes. We can help with emission inventories for sources of dust. Our strength lies in the ability to provide site-specific, activity-specific emission inventories for dust from travel on roads, windblown sources, and other activities such as earth-moving, construction, and agriculture.

Do you provide informational seminars?

We do not have ongoing workshops or seminars. However, we would be glad to talk to you about your interests, advise if we can be of help, and provide an assessment of the scope of your specific concern/problem. If there is a specific topic of interest to you and that is in our areas of expertise, we can consider more formal seminar or workshop arrangements at an additional fee.
